Reason for urgency:
A new contractor started on site in October and was able to carry out further intrusive investigations which revealed that the true cost of the works will be higher than initially estimated. The extra costs were not identified until after the EDN had been published. We are asking Cabinet to reconsider the decision. If we have to wait until the January Cabinet work on site will have to be suspended.
