Decision:
To enter into contracts for the collection and
processing of textiles which have been collected by the NWLDC
collection team and at static 'bring' sites located throughout the
district from containers provided by the contractor.
Reasons for the decision:
To enter into contracts with a better
performing contractor as there were issues with the previous
provider. A clear schedule of requirements is included in the
contract setting out clearly the expectations and performance
criteria for the contractor to adhere to and comply with.
Alternative options considered:
Not to provide textile collections was
considered and to remove all bring site banks. However, both the
textile collection and bring facility are well used by
residents.
