Decision:
Where a vehicle of 6 years or older fails a
vehicle inspection a second inspection (retest) will be permitted.
Where a vehicle fails the second vehicle inspection (retest) with
any defect relating to a safety critical area, the vehicle will not
be deemed to be in an exceptionally well maintained condition,
resulting in either the application being refused or licence being
revoked. For new and renewal applications this will result in the
application being refused. For inspections carried out at any other
point during the term of the licence, the licence will be
revoked.
