Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

Agree to make the Breedon on the Hill Neighbourhood Plan

Reasons for the decision:

In a referendum covering the Breedon on the Hill Neighbourhood Plan area on 13 March 2025, 87% of those who voted supported the proposal that the Neighbourhood Plan be used to help determine planning applications within the parish.
The Breedon on the Hill Neighbourhood Plan meets the Basic Conditions and its preparation process has been compliant with legal and procedural requirements. Paragraph 38A(4)(a) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 requires the Council to make the Neighbourhood Plan if more than half of those voting in the referendum have voted in favour of the Plan being used to help decide planning applications in the area.

Alternative options considered:

The council has to decide whether to 'make' the plan following the Referendum on 13 March 2025. Such a decision has to be made within 8 weeks of the referendum.
