Decision:
Agree to make the Swannington Neighbourhood
Plan
Reasons for the decision:
In a referendum in the that part of the
Swannington Parish Council area covered by the Swannington
Neighbourhood Plan area on 2 March 2023 80% of those who voted
supported the proposal that the Neighbourhood Plan be used to help
determine planning applications within the parish.
The Swannington Neighbourhood Plan meets the Basic Conditions and
its preparation process has been compliant with legal and
procedural requirements. Paragraph 38A(4)(a) of the Planning and
Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 requires the Council to make the
Neighbourhood Plan if more than half of those voting in the
referendum have voted in favour of the Plan being used to help
decide planning applications in the area.

The council has to decide whether to 'make'
the plan following the Referendum on 2 March 2023. Such a decision
has to be made within 8 weeks of the referendum.
