Grass-cutting on council properties | Due to wet conditions of the grass, we may not be able to cut all of the grass areas of our council properties at this current time; this includes our parks, open spaces and play areas. Our team are surveying the sites and as soon as the areas are dry enough, our team will be grass-cutting as usual. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Decision:

Following a procurement exercise undertaken by LHC, the Director of Housing has approved a recommendation to enter into an agreement for the installation of replacement heating systems and associated insulation measures in 410 Council homes

Reasons for the decision:

The decision provides the best opportunity to ensure that those Council homes with currently solid fuel or electric heating and located in areas where mains gas is not an option can benefit from energy efficient and affordable heating systems. The Council will benefit from over £2m in Government subsidies over the next seven years.

Alternative options considered:

Financial appraisal and cost benefit analysis were carried out. This option was considered the most economically advantageous for the Council.
