Election of Chair Minutes: By affirmation of the meeting, it was
RESOLVED THAT:
Councillor J Simmons be appointed as Chair for the remainder of the meeting. |

Exclusion of Press and Public The officers consider that the press and public should be excluded during consideration of the following items in accordance with Section 100(a) of the Local Government Act 1972 as publicity would be likely to result in disclosure of exempt or confidential information.
Minutes: Councillor J Simmons moved that the press and public be excluded during the consideration of the private hire driver’s licence. It was seconded by Councillor A Barker and
RESOLVED THAT:
In pursuance of Section 100(a) (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the consideration of the private hire driver’s licence on the grounds that the business involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Section 100(a) of the Local Government Act 1972 and that the public interest in maintaining this exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information. |

Consideration of a Private Hire Driver's Licence The report of the Licensing Enforcement Officer. Minutes: The Legal Advisor announced that, as the Licensee was not in attendance, the Sub Committee were required to agree whether they wanted the hearing to proceed as normal.
Councillor A Barker moved that the hearing be continued in the absence of the Licensee. It was seconded by Councillor G Rogers and
RESOLVED THAT:
The private hire driver’s licence be considered in the absence of the Licensee.
The Chair introduced the meeting and outlined the procedures to be followed.
The Licensing Enforcement Officer presented the report and a discussion was had.
As the Licensee was not in attendance, there was no opportunity for a short closing speech.
The meeting adjourned at 3:26pm for the Panel to deliberate.
The Panel reconvened at 3:35pm.

The private hire driver’s licence be revoked with a public safety warning. |
