Grass-cutting on council properties | Due to wet conditions of the grass, we may not be able to cut all of the grass areas of our council properties at this current time; this includes our parks, open spaces and play areas. Our team are surveying the sites and as soon as the areas are dry enough, our team will be grass-cutting as usual. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Decision:

An application was approved in error for a kerb set to be erected in an area (old consecrated section) that is not allowed. Kerb sets are not allowed in this part of the cemetery due to the safe system of work used to carry out the maintenance in this area.

Reasons for the decision:

Due to the sensitivity of the subject and the distress it would cause the family if we asked for it to be removed, the decision is to allow this one to remain but not to set a precedent for others to be allowed in the future to ensure we can continue the safe working practise of carrying out the grounds maintenance.
