Grass-cutting on council properties | Due to wet conditions of the grass, we may not be able to cut all of the grass areas of our council properties at this current time; this includes our parks, open spaces and play areas. Our team are surveying the sites and as soon as the areas are dry enough, our team will be grass-cutting as usual. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Bloor Homes development, Frearson Road

The development by Bloor Homes off Frearson Road is causing significant issues for local residents.

We, the undersigned, are requesting that North West Leicestershire District Council act to prevent dust from the development site mentioned above causing a considerable nuisance for local residents.

Council response

At the end of May the Environmental Protection (EP) team received a report of dust coming from the Bloor Homes development off Frearson Road. The EP team made contact with the developer and asked the site manager to ensure they have and continue to use adequate and sufficient dust suppression measures on the site i.e. water bowsers and appropriate speed limits are enforced. A further report was received on 13 July stating things were still bad in terms of dust from the site. That day the Senior Planning Enforcement Officer visited the site and agreed the site is to set up a rota for the bowser to carry out dampening down rather than rely on individuals taking the incentive to carry out the work. They also requested that along with the water bowser dampening down that they need to employ a street sweeper on a more regular basis. To date, no further complaints have been received.
